What we collect

• Your name, email address and delivery address when you place an order.
• Your email address if you join our mailing list or waiting list.
• Your name, email and message if you use our contact form.
• Order and subscription history, held in Shopify.
• Basic technical data such as pages visited, used to keep the site working.

We never see or store your full card details — payments are handled by Shopify and its payment providers.

Why we use it

• To take payment, post your letters and provide customer support (to perform our contract).
• To send marketing emails where you have opted in (consent, withdrawable at any time).
• To keep records required by law, such as tax records (legal obligation).

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that make the shop work: Shopify (orders and checkout), Appstle (subscription management), our website and database hosting provider, our email provider and Royal Mail or other carriers. They process data on our instructions.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for seven years to meet UK tax requirements. Mailing list entries are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept for up to two years.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to marketing, or ask us to restrict processing. Email hello@dearlyknown.co.uk and we will respond within one month. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
